Now THIS was a show!!  I went with my best friend & her little sister.  I laugh when I look back on shows like this one with NO recollection of the opening band.  In this case, I vaguely remember The Flaming Lips.  But I also remember dismissing them as being weird.  WTF?? I wish I had paid more attention!!  I definitely remember STP!  In fact, they were probably the main reason we went to this show.  While we also really dug Butthole Surfers, we were even more excited about STP.  Their new album, Core, had just come out & I had really begun to love it.  Upon first listen, I almost wrote them off as being Pearl Jam copycats.  But I’m so glad I stuck with them because they really proved themselves to be quite a different band.  At this show they pretty much sang the entire Core album.  Just check out their set list.  It was great!!!

  1. Crackerman
  2. Wicked Garden
  3. No Memory
  4. Sin
  5. Plush
  6. Where the River Goes
  7. Creep
  8. Dead & Bloated
  9. Sex Type Thing
  10. Wet My Bed
  11. Naked Sunday

After STP played I remember nearly getting into a fight with some idiot with attitude.  My best friend had to break that up.  Nice.  Butthole Surfers put on a fun show.  I wasn’t really familiar with anything but their current album, Independent Worm Saloon, so when they played older stuff, I was a little lost. It didn’t matter though because we had a GREAT time!  I’m glad I got to see such a diverse combination of bands.

I was at this show! It was the first time I encountered The Flaming Lips, and I got to see them at The Aragon again in 2009 on The Soft Bulletin anniversary tour. Such a great place.

My friends and I were around 15 and there mostly to see The Butthole Surfers, who did not disappoint. Gibby Haynes stripped down to nothing but a strategically-placed trash bag and kept demanding that someone throw a bra onstage for him to wear. I don’t believe he ever got one.

Anyway, we were little kids in our first big concert mosh pit, and it was really scary! I remember in particular this huge shirtless dude with a big horned skull tattoo on his back. He was taking people out right and left. I still have bad memories of that bonehead, but the rest of the night was wonderful.

I was there!!! STP was incredible!!
I nearly got killed in the most pit during BHS’s.
Easily one of the best and most memorable concerts I’ve ever seen.

This was an insane tour. I was at the Milwaukee show in an empty Summerfest grounds. Everyone was sauced cuz there was a beer trailer getting everyone fueled up. The security guards had to abandon ship because people were straight punching them
