The New Jersey Syndicate Tour was still going strong.  And after months of soaking in the new album (New Jersey) and also becoming big fans of Skid Row, my best friend and I decided to go for it and see them again at Alpine Valley.  Now that my parents had moved up to Libertyville, it was actually a closer drive getting up there.  It was my first time seeing a show at this venue and I was excited to see both bands again.  I can’t say that I remember the details of this show very well, but I do know that the concert was AMAZING!!  Both Skid Row & Bon Jovi rocked us HARD that day!  And here’s Bon Jovi’s set list:

  1. Lay Your Hands on Me
  2. I’d Die for You
  3. Wild in the Streets
  4. You Give Love a Bad Name
  5. Born to Be My Baby
  6. Let It Rock
  7. I’ll Be There for You
  8. Blood on Blood
  9. Runaway
  10. Livin’ on a Prayer
  11. Love for Sale
  12. Wanted Dead or Alive
  13. Bad Medicine

You can imagine how much fun we had!!  And although this list doesn’t reflect it, I’m pretty damn sure there was an encore…or two.

  1. Jeani Johnson says:

I remember Jon Bon Jovi saying if you’re stupid enough to stay, we’re stupid enough to play! Awesome concert! Most of the people left except for us die hard fans! They played for another hour. It was something I’ll never forget! ❤

  2. MJ says:

Does anyone else remember Bon Jovi and Skidrow playing Led Zeppelin’s “Rock ‘N Roll” together as an encore?

Totally verify the screen came flying off into the grounds and I remember John telling us the they wee out of here and everybody go take cover. I remember the wind was whipping dirt and crap all over the place and for a bit I though a tornado might be seriously coming. It stopped the show dead in its travks and though I was drunk and 17 I remember it being a killer show. Aaah to have gotten to see a few bands I the golden era of hair bands. Feeling grateful for that these days!!!

  4. John says:

    Wasn’t there a storm?

  5. joe says:

That was an amazing concert with the storm that went through and took one of the big screens down, john came back out and it was stll lightening. and he said if you guys are crazy enough to stay I’m crazy enough to play for you. great times.

This was my first concert and I remember it like it was yesterday! I was 16 then Skid Row was a new band and they kicked ass! The storm rolled through but the concert went on with the screen flapping in the wind over the arch of the overhead roof. Bon Jovi came and kicked ass, we all had fun, and if I remember correctly John had a shirt on that said Fuck Me on it. Good Times! There was beer, music, wild Wisconsin weather and a whole lota fun shit going on! Thanks for the memories!

This was my 2nd time seeing these bands together. I was already a huge fan of Bon Jovi and had discovered Skid Row in their opening slot for Bon Jovi at Rosemont Horizon earlier that year. My best friend and I HAD to see them again. Thanks for sharing your memory! 🙂
